2pm for the hurlers, 4pm for the footballers as Carlow fans set to be torn for next weekend’s league games

This is far from ideal.

The starting times for Carlow’s league league games in both football and hurling will almost certainly be a point of contention on Saturday, February 4th.

The county’s senior hurling side begin their Allianz National Hurling League Division 2A campaign at 2pm as they welcome Kildare to Netwatch Cullen Park.

At 4pm, the football team will travel to the SETU Arena to take on Waterford in their second Allianz National Football League Division 4 encounter of 2023.

The close start times means it will not be possible for supporters or members of the county board to attend both games.

The throw-in times will be frustrating to Carlow natives with both team’s hopeful of respective promotion charges this season.

Meanwhile, Carlow’s senior footballers begin their league campaign this Saturday at 7pm against Wicklow.

KCLR will have full live commentary of the game with Robbie Dowling and Carlow legend Willie Quinlan on commentary duty from Netwatch Cullen Park.

If you can’t get to the game, KCLR is the only place where you can hear all of Carlow’s Allianz National Football League and Leinster championship games in 2023.
