I.T Carlow are through to their first ever Fitzgibbon Cup Final.
They have defeated UCC after Extra time by 2-20 to 1-20.
Kilkenny’s Kevin Kelly and Waterfords Colin Dunford scored the all important goals.
Kelly’s effort in Normal time was matched by another Kilkenny man with Carrickshock’s John Power finding the net to bring the game to extra time with the scores at 1-15 apiece.
Carlow pushed on in the additional periods and Colin Dunford’s strike insured that the local college will contest its first ever Fitzgibbon Final tomorrow against either Mary I or L.I.T in Galway.
Kilkenny legend DJ Carey is the Manager, with Mick Dempsey also involved in the backroom team.
Kilkenny’s Rob Moran, Kelly and Chris Bolger along with Carlow’s Marty Kavanagh and James Doyle are all heavily involved on the field of play.
