IT Carlow Basketball take on the mighty Neptune BC in the Men’s National League Cup in the Waterford IT Arena on Friday night.
The winners will take on either Dublin Lions or Ballincollig BC in the Final the following day.
Head coach Martin Conroy says they have improved immensely as they look to book a place in the National League Cup Final. Speaking to KCLR ahead of this evening’s clash with Neptune, Martin says they are going to the WIT Arena with huge momentum.
“Even coming into the start of this season, we played Neptune at home in our first game, and they wiped the floor with us”, says Conroy.
“They beat us by 45 points, but three weeks later, four weeks later we played them in the cup again at home and we were 14 points up coming into the last quarter and they ended up catching us at the end of the game. They beat us by three or four points.”
“We have improved a lot since the start of the season, we have got better and better, we lost one game between the end of October and the start of January. We won our last three games so we are kind of running into a good bit of momentum.”
“It’s a huge game for the club so for us to reach a National Final would be a fantastic achievement.”
