Former Grand National winning trainer Jimmy Mangan says that the Willie Mullins trained Total Recall has a great chance of giving the stable a 2nd Grand National success.
Jimmy trained Monty’s Pass to win the Aintree feature back in 2003 and speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday’s showpiece race, Jimmy says Total Recall’s Gold Cup effort can be ignored and that Katie Walsh’s mount Baie Des Isle will be a strong contender.
“The form is very strong and she(Baie Des Isles) loves the soft going.
“If she has a clear run during the race, she will definitely be a good each-way bet.
“You never dismiss one of Willie’s horses really and the Gold Cup, it was just a bit of a classy race with the two lads up in front, it would have been a great Gold Cup if you took the first two out of it, and he(Total Recall) is definitely there with a shout,” he said.
