Friendship put to one side as Davitts face Tinryland in under 21 Semi Final

Aaron Amond playing for Michael Davitts

Michael Davitts Under-21 Footballer Aaron Amond says that his friendship with Tinryland player John Murphy will be put to one side when the two players clash in Saturday’s Under-21 County Football Semi-Final.

Aaron and John hurl together for the Naomh Brid hurlers and speaking to KCLR, Aaron says both himself and John will be driven in their determination to gain victory for their respective teams.

“Oh sure look, I suppose I went to school with John since I was 4 right up to the Leaving Cert

“We know each other well and we hurled together, could very possibly be marking each other.

“Look I suppose me and John are both on the same page, I suppose the minute that ball is thrown up, our friendship will be gone and the minute that the whistle will be gone we will be back so we will probably head to Rico’s regardless of the result,” he said.

Throw in is at 7.30pm in Netwatch Cullen Park Saturday.
