Former Wexford Senior Hurler Martin Storey says that the new kids on the block for Kilkenny need to be given time by the public.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of tomorrow evening’s Leinster Championship clash between Kilkenny and Wexford, Martin says it’s phenomenal that Kilkenny remain contenders after all the retirements the past few years.
“I just think with the new format, teams could be even targeting and picking who they wanted but I don’t think Kilkenny are going anywhere.
“I just think their has to be a little bit of patience with the new team, I mean if you take the players that have retired out of Kilkenny over the past 4 years, and still be contenders like they are, I think that is phenomenal.
“They basically lost 90% of a team that were household names and all of a sudden the expectation is these lads will be able to slot in, but you have to cut your teeth like,” he said.
