Waterford Senior Hurling Manager Padraic Fanning is delighted with the response of the players since coming into the Waterford set-up.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of this evenings (Saturday) clash at home to Carlow, Padraic says their is extra determination this year after the disappointment of last year.
He said “Last year, there was a lot of freakish injuries and things and a lot of bad luck as well. Derek (McGrath) has had a fantastic five years with the lads and I have come in and in fairness, the players have bought in really well”.
“All we can do at the moment is exactly what we are doing, we are working really hard and there is determination, but I think you will find with any Inter-County set-up those players take their hurling very very seriously and ours do as well, and we have a determination to do well but that is not going to be either guarantee success”.
Padraic says “It’s a tough environment, we have got to work really hard and we are going to need it a little bit of luck as well as every team does at this level”.
