Thomastown Intermediate Hurling Manager Maurice Aylward was most impressed with Tullaroan’s fightback and attitude when they defeated them in the Intermediate League Final in September.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of today’s (Sunday’s) Intermediate County Final showdown between the same two clubs, Maurice says they proved in the League Final that they have the character and mettle in difficult situations.
He said “We were playing pretty well for a quarter or 15 minutes of the first-half, and a thunderbolt came at us then for the next 8 or 9 minutes, and we conceded three goals”
“What I was most happy about that day was the way we fought after those three goals especially in the second-half, right we were lucky to win the game in the finish, but it’s the attitude and the fightback that impressed me most”.
