Carlow has been relegated to Division 2 after losing to Westmeath yesterday in the Relegation Playoff.
Carlow rallied in the last ten minutes, with two late goals, but Westmeath had a clear lead and won the game comfortably 1-17 to 2-08.
Speaking to KCLR after the game, Carlow manager Colm Bonnar blamed his side first half display on the final score.
He said “Going in at half time, four points on the board, really was a killer for us”.
“We took the breeze, we said we needed a good start and it just didn’t happens for us, Westmeath were out of the block very quickly, they were a hingruer team and they put us on the back foot from the word go”.
