The G-A-A have re-iterated that they won’t rush the return of matches or opening of their facilities.
There are have been calls this week for the association to re-open grounds to the public ahead of time. Armagh All-Ireland winner Steven McDonnell and Kilkennys TJ Reid have both publicly called for the pitches to be reopen
President John Horan says they’ll only consider bringing forward their planned dates if it’s deemed safe to do so. Horan said they’ll continue to adopt a “safety first” approach while plotting their return to play road-map.
“We will have to just work together on this. I understand the challenges for clubs around the country from a financial point of view but we are looking at this, we’re doing our best on this. I’m not going to come out and make populist false promises about anything we can or can’t do for clubs. But we are aware of it all.”
