Kilkenny booked their place in the quarter-final of the Littlewoods Ireland Division 1 Camogie League on Saturday afternoon following a comfortable defeat of Offaly in Birr.
Kilkenny manager Brian Dowling told KCLR’s Scoreline following the game that he was happy with the performance level of his players.
“The performance was very good, and the attitude was excellent. We didn’t panic after the Dublin performance and we had a really good two weeks of training so any day that you get four goals is good,” said Dowling.
The O’Loughlin Gaels man also highlighted the importance having a strong panel at his disposal in terms of quantity and quality.
He said: “If you want to win things you need players pushing the starting fifteen and we saw that today.
“It’s tough making decisions for the starting line-up but that’s a good place to be because it means you have a strong panel.”
The 2020 All-Ireland winning manager feels that goals are the key to replicating the form of last year’s campaign that eventually ended in All-Ireland success.
“One thing that we wanted to do was create goal chances. In the big games you get two or three chances, and you have to take them.
“That’s the difference at this level and you have to go for it when there is a goal opportunity on the cards.”
