They did all they could, but it wasn’t enough as Kilkenny was ultimately defeated by a superior Antrim side in the All-Ireland intermediate camogie final in Croke Park on Sunday afternoon.
Despite a bright start from Kilkenny, their wait for an All-Ireland intermediate title goes on as Antrim are deservedly crowned champions after a scoreline of 2-21 to 2-13.
Overall, manager John Scott was disappointed with his team’s performance.
“I was just so disappointed that we didn’t perform, and that was the thing that was really hurting me more than anything else, that we didn’t perform,” said John.
“Antrim now were super the same day, the first fifteen minutes we were decent, we went four points up, had a goal chance, if they had have gone in maybe it would have been a different story, but Antrim seemed to kick on from there and we went kind of downhill from there,”
