It was an action-packed weekend of hurling action in Kilkenny.

Yesterday, it was a game of two halves as defending county champions Ballyhale Shamrocks ended Bennettsbridge’s championship hopes in UPMC Nowlan Park.

Elsewhere Tullaroan got the better of Clara in extra-time epic to book their place in the semi-final.

While James Stephens booked their place in the semi-final after a thrilling victory against Dicksboro.

After the game, village manager Seamus Dwyer admitted that his side struggled with certain aspects of Dicksboro’s game.

“All the lads put in a massive shift, the boro, like you know, obviously they’re a top club and they’re very well-coached and very well organised,” said Seamus.

“We had a lot of trouble getting to grips with their possession game and running game”.

“Thankfully we found a way to win, it could have gone either way at the end, let’s be honest but we’re delighted to be where we are now but it’s only a step further”.
