The Irish Open will be held at Mount Juliet in Kilkenny for the second year in a row next year, the European Tour has confirmed.
The tournament will be staged between June 30th and July 3rd, in advance of the JP McManus Pro-Am.
The European Tour is to rebrand as the DP World Tour with a minimum prize fund of $2m for each tournament solely sanctioned by the DP World Tour.
The event was held at the Kilkenny course from the 1st to the 4th July this year but with covid restrictions, the number of fans and others was lower than would have been liked.
Lucas Herbert won the 2021 tournament while Irish players Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell were all in the field.
Mount Juliet had been due to host the Irish Open in 2020 before the covid pandemic saw the tournament moved to Galgorm Castle.
