All of this weekend’s junior soccer games in Kilkenny have been postponed due to the increase in coronavirus cases amongst squads.
The post-Christmas fixtures were scheduled to take place this weekend but have been postponed as a result of the positive cases that have become common in junior teams recently.
In a statement that was released to all clubs, KDSL Honorary Secretary Tom Mullins said: “All games are postponed this weekend due to the high numbers of Covid-19 in clubs.”
There is currently no date for the return of junior soccer in the county in the new year with the KDSL hoping to complete its domestic season in full for the first time since 2018/19.
Underage games will resume in the county on Saturday January 8.
