Theresa Aylward has been appointed as the new chairperson of Kilkenny Camogie.
The Clara clubwoman replaces outgoing chairperson Sheila Norris in the role as a busy year for all involved in the sport on Noreside commences.
Aylward will be ratified on January 11 when she will officially take up her new position.
In a statement, Kilkenny Camogie said: “Congratulations to our new incoming Chairperson Theresa Aylward from Clara.
“Theresa will be ratified on January 11th and take up her new role.
“We wish Theresa all the best in her new role.”
The news of Aylward’s appointment comes in the wake of a busy week for Kilkenny Camogie with the captains for each respective team selected ahead of the new season.
Dicksboro’s Aoife Prendergast will lead the senior team as they look to reclaim the All-Ireland crown that they relinquished to Galway in 2021.
Prendergast’s fellow clubwoman Amy Clifford captains a minor outfit who will be hopeful of a successful defence of the All-Ireland title that they won in dramatic circumstances last year.
The intermediate team’s new captain is Paulstown player Shauna Treacy who was instrumental in helping her club win the intermediate county championship at the end of 2021.
