Charlie Carter gives his thoughts on The Cats winning an All Ireland this year

Kilkenny won’t win this year’s senior hurling All-Ireland, but they have improved greatly since the beginning of the year.

So says former All-Star and All-Ireland winner with the Cats, Charlie Carter.

The Young Irelands man, now coaching with Carlow’s Myshall, is this week’s guest on The Clash Act podcast and says he’s been impressed with the likes of Eoin Cody and Mikey Butler this season.

“I have been impressed enough with Kilkenny. At the start of the year, I thought we were in a bit of bother. In fairness to the boys, they knuckled down and gelled well.”

“I do not know if we will win an All Ireland Final, I don’t think it will be this year, to be honest with you. They have definitely come on since the start of the year.”

The man who scored 1-03 in the 2000 All Ireland final against Offaly, thus helping the Cats to end their seven-year hiatus shockingly retired in 2003 along with Brian McEvoy.

You can hear that full in-depth interview chatting about his career, his thoughts on Brian Cody, and more this evening from 7 pm on Scoreline.ie.
