This year’s Carlow Poc Fada competition, a joint running by Carlow GAA and Carlow Camogie was held on Monday night.
Mount Leinster once again provided the backdrop and may have provided a little bit of home advantage at least where the hurling side of things is concerned.
Senior winner for the hurling was Mount Leinster Rangers’ own Kevin McDonald while junior clubmate Fionn O’Brien was winner of the U16 category.
In the camogie, Naomh Bríd’s Tracy McNally was senior winner, with Muinebheag’s Chantelle Kelly runner up and Myshall’s Michell Nolan in third. Myshall had the U16 winner in Sarah Sheehan with Ballinkillen’s Niamh Treacy runner up while India Mernagh (Kildavin Clonegal) claimed third place.
The winners will now progress to the Leinster finals, also being hosted by Carlow GAA and Carlow Camogie on Saturday 25 June.
