Sunday sees two of Kilkenny’s most successful clubs go head-to-head once more in the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship final as Ballyhale Shamrocks take on James Stephens.
The Shamrocks are going in search of their fifth consecutive title with their old rivals standing in their way of a record-equalling 20th county championship.
James Stephens have turned their early season form around with victories over Lisdowney, Bennettsbridge and Dicksboro meaning they are one victory away from lifting the Tom Walsh Cup for the first time since 2011.
Before we bring you full live commentary of the decider from 2.30pm on Sunday, KCLR will be building up to the game with expert analysis and insight across the weekend.
First up on Friday Scoreline from 6pm – 7pm, Eddie Scally will be catching up with the managers of both teams, Pat Hoban and Seamus Dwyer, as preparations enter their final stages.
In a jam-packed hour, we’ll also be hearing from KCLR analysts Aidan ‘Taggy’ Fogarty and Adrian Ronan as they give their predictions on the big game.
Then on Saturday on our flagship sport show, Scoreline, flanked by Shane O’Keeffe, James Stephens’ 2011 winning captain Jackie Tyrell and the Village manager 11 years ago Niall Rigney will reflect on that win and draw parallels between that side and the current panel.
2020 and 2021 county championship winning manager James O’Connor will delve deeper into the culture of success within Ballyhale Shamrocks.
If that’s not enough, we also just so happened to catch up with Liverpool and Ireland legend Ronnie Whelan during the week and you can hear that chat in full on Saturday afternoon.
That, and lots more, on Scoreline from 2pm – 6pm every Saturday and Sunday.
