Initially postponed from Monday, Tuesday evening’s Stryve U20 Carlow football championship ‘A’ quarter-final between Clonmore and Bagenalstown Gaels is off.
With Bagenalstown receiving a walkover, they now progress to the semi-final stages and join Mount Leinster Rangers, Éire Óg and Rathvilly in the penultimate round of this year’s competition.
Mount Leinster Rangers put in a strong showing against Palatine in Sunday’s other quarter-final, leading 2-06 to 0-02 at half-time before closing the game out 2-14 to 0-11 to push their football journey for 2022 beyond Christmas.
Original plans for the U20 championship were to have all games run off by the weekend of 12 November but for two clubs, there are another two days out yet. A draw to determine the semi-final pairings will be held in Carlow on Tuesday night.
