Win or lose, there will be an All-Ireland senior hurling homecoming event for Kilkenny this Monday with proceedings underway from around 4pm at UPMC Nowlan Park.
Organised by Kilkenny County Council, the event will feature live music from Sean Carroll, Burnchurch, The Kilkenny’s in the county grounds along with a replay of Sunday’s All-Ireland senior hurling decider against Limerick.
The team will take an open-top bus journey from Kilkenny Castle at 7pm, down to Rose Inn Street, over John’s Bridge and up John Street, proceeding up the Hebron Road and finishing in O’Loughlin Road at UPMC Nowlan Park. It’s anticipated the players and management will arrive to the stage around 7.30pm with the event due to draw to a close approx 8.30pm.

In the interest of public safety, Kilkenny County Council, Kilkenny G.A.A., and An Garda Síochána are asking all attendees to arrive early at UPMC Nowlan Park and cooperate with the directions provided by the dedicated stewards. For the convenience of those attending the event, all public car parks in Kilkenny city will be open and free of charge from 4pm onwards on Monday.
Additionally, pay parking at a rate of €2.50 for three hours, will be available at MacDonagh Junction car park until 9.30pm, ensuring ample parking spaces for everyone who wishes to partake in the celebrations.
