Well now that the hurling is over Barrowside, Carlow GAA launched their football championship in netwatch Cullen Park last night.

HQ played host to most senior fixtures last year, as opposed to hosting traditional home and away games on club grounds.

Chairperson Jim Bolger spoke to KCLR at the launch and stated that there are challenges in hosting games away from the county stadium

Keeping with Carlow, if aged between 15 & 18 and would like to become a GAA Referee

In Kilkenny, there was a cracking game played out in the quarter-final stages of the JJ Kavanagh and Sons Junior A Championship

St. Patricks and Mullinavat were deadlocked at 4-19 a piece in extra time and required Penalties to separate them.

The Ballyragget team won 2-0 after Mullinavat failed to hit the net in four tries.

Dicksboro will meet the winner of James Stephens and Tullogher Rosbercon in the Revise.ie Under 19 Roinn A Hurling Championship final

They beat Erins Own on a scoreline of 2-18 to 1-13

There is one game tonight in Kilkenny with the Revise.ie Under 19 Roinn D Championship Semi-Final taking place from 7 between Emeralds and St. Patricks in Urlingford.

Manchester City have won the UEFA Super Cup.

They beat Sevilla 5-4 on penalties in Greece last night after the match was drawn at 1 goal apiece.

Japanese international Wataru Endo is traveling to Merseyside ahead of a transfer to Liverpool from Stuttgart for around 16 million pounds.

The 30-year-old is set to become a part of the Reds’ midfield.

Rugby

Ireland head coach Andy Farrell will name his 15 later for Saturday’s World Cup warm-up game against England in Dublin.

Connacht’s Cian Prendergast could get a start in the back row and Farrell is set to confirm that Keith Earls will win his 100th cap.

Five players have been released to their provinces – Munster’s Gavin Coombes and Calvin Nash, Leinster’s Jamie Osborne, Ulster’s Kieran Treadwell and Connacht’s Caolin Blade.

The final World Cup squad of 33 will be announced on Monday week.
