Carlow Minor Camogie selector Ger Power is very confident they can overturn their defeat to Roscommon earlier in the Championship, and defeat the Connacht ladies in Saturday’s All-Ireland Minor Roinn C Final.
Speaking to KCLR, Ger says that Rachel Sawyer, who starred in last years All-Ireland Premier Junior Camogie Final has made a big impression in the Minor Championship.
“She made a big impression for me this year in the Minor as well. She scored 3-8 against Tyrone and she scored 2-4 against Cavan”, says Power of Sawyer.
“Roscommon were a good side on the day, our girls just didn’t perform and if they can go to their potential for Saturday I have no doubt we will win this All-Ireland.”
“This is the big one, this is the one we have been building up to so hopefully, if they get their heads on this Saturday I have no doubt we will get a win in this.”
Carlow v Roscommon throws in at 2.45pm ini Coralstown/Kinnegad GAA with Dublin’s Gavin Donegan set to referee.
Table-topping Roscommon secured victory in all three of their games in the group stage to reach this year’s final, where they will have a spring in their step as they seek to regain the title which they last won in 2015. Carlow finished as runners-up in the group, suffering their only defeat against Roscommon when both sides met in March. Carlow are aiming to win the Minor C title for the first time since 2010.
