The three-day Fairyhouse Easter Festival comes to a close on Tuesday. There are eight races down for decision with the first of those due off at 3.00pm. The going is good to yielding and a dry day is in store at the popular County Meath track.
The highlight of the day is the Glascarn Handicap Hurdle (4.40), worth €100,000 in prize-money, and the current favourite is Golden Spear from the Tony Martin stable who will be ridden by Donagh Meyler.
Willie Mullins runs Chambord Du Lys as he attempts to cut back Gordon Elliott’s huge lead in the Irish trainers’ championship.
There is €55,000 worth of prize-money up for grabs in the I.N.H. Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Novice Handicap Hurdle Series Final (4.10) and Gordon Elliott looks to hold the key with Sutton Manor and Woods Well, both owned by Michael O’Leary’s Gigginstown House Stud.
