St Finbarrs’ defender Alan O‘Connor says their AIB Munster GAA Football Senior Club Championship Final opponents, Austin Stacks, pose threats all around the team.
The two meet in Thurles this Sunday at 1.45 pm, with the ‘Barrs out for a first provincial title since1986 while Stacks last won this title in 2014.
O’Connor has outlined to Oisin langan what their approach will be.
“There is no substitute for hard work, if we work hard, stay on point and play our game, that is all we need to do against any team we come up against. I think they will set up with their game plan and they have a lot of good players and really good free takers. We tend to focus though on what our performance can bring instead of what the other team is going to do.”
The game will take place at Semple Stadium Thurles. and O’Connor says the venue will not change its approach.
“It is going to be a different venue but it is going to be the same game. That is the message we are coming with. We are not for one second taking it for granted that it is a massive occasion and we hope to kick on. Whether it is in Thurles or a field behind someone’s house the game stays the same, its 15 v 15 with the ball.”
