Kilkenny is gearing up for the commencement of their Very Ireland Camogie League campaign this Saturday, as they go head-to-head with Cork at UPMC Nowlan Park.

The clash marks the debut for new manager Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere, who takes charge after Kilkenny’s two All-Ireland victories under Brian Dowling.

Expressing his anticipation for the match, Cleere highlighted the significance of Nowlan Park, stating, “We are appreciative of Kilkenny GAA for facilitating us. At the end of the day, it’s our county ground, and when you’re a little boy or a little girl growing up, first and foremost you want to play for your club, and then you want to play for your county. When you play for your county, the mecca is Nowlan Park, obviously.”

Emphasizing the excitement surrounding the clash with the All Ireland Champions, Cleere is hopeful for a strong turnout from supporters. He remarked, “All Ireland Champions coming to town is exciting, and hopefully, there will be a decent crowd out to support the girls, and hopefully, by Saturday, we will have put on a really good performance.”

You can catch the live commentary on KCLR at 2 pm, courtesy of Callan Co-Op, catering to Agri, DIY, Solid Fuel, Home & Garden needs.

For those looking to get up for the match, the Camán Caint camogie podcast provides a comprehensive overview of the latest in the world of camogie, featuring insights from Kilkenny senior and intermediate camogie managers, Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere and Seamus Kelly.
