It’s another helping of All Things MMA on KCLR, served up again by our own Ken McGuire (that’ll be me) and professional MMA athlete Myles Price, fighting out of Team Ryano Kilkenny.
This week we’ve been joined by Myles’ head coach and Team Ryano founder Andy Ryan, himself a third degree Brazilian Jiu-jitsu black belt and a long time judo and BJJ competitor.
MMA in Ireland has been around long before we started watching the likes of Conor McGregor on TV with the likes of Ryan and John Kavanagh putting a shape on the origins of the sport in Ireland.
Over the course of 40 minutes, we’ll touch on the origins of Team Ryano and the early days of MMA in Ireland, through where the sport is at today on the amateur and professional scene, to young athletes representing their country and the future of the sport in relation to legalisation and government backing.

All Things MMA airs weekly on Scoreline, Saturday afternoons on KCLR.
