Ok, so it may be more like an introduction to hurling in general, but the promo (watch it above) from Emmy Award-winning US TV show 60 Minutes certainly is heavy on the Kilkenny action, including the high challenge on Ballyhale Shamrocks clubman Colin Fennelly in this year’s All-Ireland victory over Galway.

Their show notes for this coming Tuesday evening read as follows
“The ancient Irish game of hurling combines the skills of baseball, hockey, lacrosse and rugby in what some have termed a cross between “sport and murder.””
It will be in interesting to see the reaction CBS News and Showtime get from doing the sports special. We know what we’ll be watching in the wee hours of Tuesday night anyway. If you’re able to pick up Showtime you’ll be able to tune in yourselves.
If anything, the trailer itself is enough to spark a serious grá for the game.
