2022 proved to be a super busy year on the sporting front in Kilkenny, and in particular in the nominations coming through for the monthly David Buggy Motors Kilkenny Sport Star award.
Over the course of the year we celebrated everything from athletics to camogie, boxing to rowing and back again and at the end of the year we asked you to dig deep and help us decide an overall club of the year with nominations coming through to the end of December.
Today, we announced the overall winner and in case you missed the announcement during our lunchtime newo, we’re congratulating Carrickshock Camogie Club as being named the overall 2022 Club of the Year as part of the David Buggy MOtors Kilkenny Sport Star awards on KCLR.
2022 proved to be one of the best years in recent memory for the club who at one time had no juvenile structure but in 2022 went on to excel on the camogie front, ultimately yielding a junior league title and junior county crown that guarantees intermediate camogie in 2023, the minor B championship in Kilkenny and more besides.
We know that success isn’t determined just in sixty minutes on pitch but on the work that goes in to the club week in, week out, from one end of the year to the other. The club have grown to on 200 members across all ages, testament to the players, coaches, management, parents and supporters involved.
So on behalf of the Scoreline Sports Team here at KCLR, congratulations to Carrickshock Camogie Club and continued success into 2023
