Ballyragget’s new manager Ann Downey is looking forward to getting the new season underway
Downey will make history in Kilkenny becoming the first female to take charge of a Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling side.
Speaking to Sunday Scoreline, Ann said she is looking forward to the new challenge.
She said “I took the year out and I had plans to spend a lot of time in Kerry but I suppose when my own came knocking at the door it’s very hard to refuse and I’ve worked before with these young lads”.
“I was involved when we won the Minor B and I was training them when we won the U21 A in 2011, they had great respect for me at the time and I’m looking forward to the new challenge”.
