Bagenalstown CC is on the lookout for Women’s Cricket players in the Carlow/Kilkenny area.

Genevieve Corrigan, a member of Bagenalstown CC Women’s committee made the following statement:

“We are delighted to continue to promote the women’s game in the Carlow and Kilkenny area. We had some interest a couple of years ago, and we are now looking to build upon that to try and establish a team at our club. We will be having an open day in February, as well as indoor sessions in March, so the girls can get up to speed for the season ahead. We have planned to have our outdoor sessions during the summer at the same time as when the men train, so that the new players can see what the club is all about.”

.
Bernard O’Mara, a member of Bagenalstown CC committee said:

“The cricket club feels that we should be providing cricket not just to one half of the population, but also to women in the region. We also have some girls who are really interested in cricket now starting to come through at youth level, and it would not be fair on them if we did not have a clear pathway for their enjoyment of the game into the future.”

If you or anyone that you may know is interested in starting something new in 2017, you can contact Genevieve on 087-3748971. You can also contact Bernard on 087-1386009, or through his email [email protected]
