The Carlow senior football championship has proved to be a great learning ground for 2021.
That’s according to Bagenalstown Gael’s selector Ken Hickey who’s been telling Scoreline that despite low squad numbers, they’ve taken away a lot of positives this season.
“Four wins in this, we’re new at this, we really are new at it and unfortunately, things didn’t go our way,” said Ken.
“Three wins in the hurling, we’re probably short on numbers at the moment, to be honest, we probably only used 18 or 19 players in the senior championship because we are trying to hold onto juniors”.
“The reality was we hadn’t a big panel and I think the panel that has gone out there are after doing extraordinary well”.
Rathvilly got the better of Bagenalstown Gaels last time out to set up a repeat of the 2020 decider against Eire Og this Sunday at 3 pm.
