Jack McCullagh believes that the freedom offered to his side has been refreshing this year as Bagenalstown Gaels go in pursuit of the Carlow Senior Football Championship.
They take on Tinryland at 2.15 pm this Sunday in the first of the semi-finals and speaking to KCLR following his Man of the Match performance in his side’s victory over Old Leighlin in last weekend’s quarter-final, McCullagh said that systematic play does not suit the players at their disposable.

“There’s a lot of lads there and they’re just natural footballers. When you look at the likes of Tinryland and putting in systems and stuff, it doesn’t suit our team as a whole.”
“When you look at likes of Jamie Clark, he gets the freedom of the pitch. Robbie Kane, Paddy McDonnell even, running at defenders, I wouldn’t love to be a defender.”
“When you’re training with them boys and you have them running at you like I just feel sorry for the boys that are on the other end of it .”
We’ll have live commentary of that game and Eire Og v Rathvilly this Sunday with thanks to Dan Morrissey and Co.
