Ballyhale looks set to welcome the Liam McCarthy back to Kilkenny tonight from 7pm.
Having arrived back in the Marble City last night, it is a long-running tradition that a “second homecoming” is held around the home club of Kilkenny’s winning captain.
Joey Holden of Ballyhale Shamrocks started and finished the final, lifting the Liam McCarthy cup in the Hogan Stand after 5pm on Sunday while clubmate Michael Fennelly was named KCLR’s and The Sunday Game’s Man of the Match for his efforts in dominating the midfield against Galway.
Proceedings are set to get underway around 6.30pm with the club extending an invite to fans around the county to come to Ballyhale and join in the celebrations just off the main street by the medical centre. Parking will be available along the street, around the club and the business park with club officials urging those going to comply with the stewards in Ballyhale this evening to ensure things run smoothly.
