Sunday’s St Canice’s Credit Union Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship quarter-final clash between Ballyhale Shamrocks and Clara has been postponed due to a club bereavement for the county champions.
The game was due to take place on Sunday at 3.45pm in UPMC Nowlan Park with a semi-final place on the line.
The Shamrocks defeated Glenmore in the first-round of the championship last weekend, while Clara were crowned shield winners following a defeat of Dicksboro.
A new date has not yet been set for the rearranged fixture.
A Ballyhale Shamrocks club statement read: “Due to a club bereavement, Sunday’s quarter-final has been postponed.
“Further details will follow later.”
The other three last-eight ties will go ahead as planned this weekend, with Tullaroan and Erin’s Own and Bennettsbridge and James Stephens taking place on Saturday before Dicksboro go head-to-head with Mullinavat on Sunday.
