The ceremonial weigh ins for BAMMA 30 at Dublin’s 3 Arena took place on Thursday lunchtime at the Green Isle Hotel & Conference Centre, the event not without some controversy.

While the official weigh ins had taken place earlier Thursday morning, the ceremonial leg allowed for fighter face-offs and a chance to get in front of the press before recovering ahead of Friday night’s fight.

While the majority of exchanges were extremely civil, the self-proclaimed face of BAMMA, Richard Kiely added his own splash of colour with a head kick towards his opponent when shoved by Belfast-based Daniel ‘Obi Wan’ Olejniczak.

Portarlington-based Philip ‘The Honeybadger’ Mulpeter has had his bout against Ilkin ‘Monster’ Gasimov pulled from the card. On Wednesday it was thought the fight was going up to catchweight at 80kgs but has now been removed from the card altogether.

The only other change of note was a late replacement for Kiefer Crosbie. Originally due to face Dariusz Swierkosz in a welterweight clash (170lbs), he’s got himself a new opponent in the form of Waldemar Cichy. Before Swierkosz he had been due to face ‘Dirty’ Harry Marple.

Kilkenny’s Mick ‘Basher’ Brennan, taking on Northern Ireland’s Decky ‘The Diamond’ Dalton also came through the weigh ins in good form, Brennan landing at 144.2lbs ahead of his 145lb bout.

Here’s how the fighters weighed in.
