Bennettsbridge were crowned Intermediate Hurling Champions in Kilkenny for 2015 after a thrilling conclusion to their final replay against St. Patrick’s Ballyragget at Nowlan Park on Saturday.

The rain stayed away for the afternoon in what was a much tighter contested clash than their first bout last week and with added time looming at the end of the game the sides were level at 1-14 apiece before Bennettsbridge pulled away at the death to finish the game 1-16 to 1-14.

The result sends Bennettsbridge back to the top tier of club hurling in Kilkenny but also sets up a Leinster championship clash with Coill Dubh at Bennettsbridge on Sunday.

Listen back to full commentary and analysis below from Brendan Hennessy and Michael Walsh. Our commentary was brought to air with thanks to John Brennan Machinery Supplies Kilkenny.

Bennettsbridge (1-16)
Nicky Cleere (0-10, 9 frees, 1 65), Brian Lannon (1-03), Sean Morrissey, Hugh O’Neill, Kevin Blanchfield (0-1 each)

St. Patrick’s Ballyragget (1-14)
Kevin Kelly (0-10, 8 frees, 1 65), Eoin Bergin (1-1), Joe Brennan (0-2), Bill Staunton (0-1)
