Movember: 8 of the best sporting moustaches of all time

Men across the world are coming are looking forward to shaving their face in the coming few days. However these lad’s wore their facial hair loud and proud all year round!

You can donate to the cause here – https://ie.movember.com/donate

Let’s begin shall we!

Dick O’Hara, Kilkenny GAA

All though not technically a moustache, how could we not include one of Kilkenny’s greatest hurlers? This tremendous effort struck fear into all of his opponents with Dick being regarded as one of the hardest players ever.

Joe McNally, Dublin GAA

The only player in the history of Gaelic football to win an All-Ireland Minor medal and Senior medal in successive years, one as a goalkeeper and one as a corner forward!

Hulk Hogan, WWE

Is there a moustache more instantly recognizable then the one on the man with 24 inch pythons?

My favourite #WWE #SurvivorSeries team has to be that of @HulkHogan, Jake Robert’s & Demolition Ax & @RealDemoSmash pic.twitter.com/LbvqoQOsE5

Graeme Souness, Liverpool

Ian Rush, Bruce Grobbelaar, Mark Lawrenson and John Aldridge have all represented the Mo for the red side of Liverpool. However none more stylishly then the Scotsman Graeme Souness.

Ryohei Yamanaka

You might be looking at this Mo and thinking it’s not that impressive. However in an an attempt to promote moustache growth in 2011, Yamanaka received a 2 year ban from the IRB for rubbing a cream on his upper lip – – which contained steroids!!!

Kudos to Kobe Kobelco Steelers & Japan fullback @yamanaka10 whose “Off the Field” clothing brand recently donated around 1,000 rugby balls to kindergartens and nursery schools around the country.#rugbyjp @rugbyunited pic.twitter.com/3MmadGufue

Larry Bird

One of the greatest to ever play the game and one of the dreaminess to ever wear a mo!

Today in 1980, Larry Bird is named the NBA’s Rookie of the Year. Magic Johnson finishes second and Larry’s mustache comes in third. pic.twitter.com/wAlipnRZoL

Don Frye

It was a toss up between Don Frye , Dan Severn and Chuck Liddel, but because Frye looks like “The Mo Master” Tom Selleck he wins this one. Plus I would not want to be the guy to tell him he did not win!

#OnThisDay in #MMA. Nov 23 1965, MMA legend and UFC Hall of Famer Don Frye is born! Frye became famous for his American Patriot persona and toughness.. also this..
