Shamrocks captured their 17th county title in 2019 by dispatching James Stephens in UMPC Nowlan Park with a convincing victory.
It was the first time since 2011 that the two sides met in the final, however, Shamrocks claimed the title three times since then and were going for their first consecutive title since beating James Stephens in 2009.
Similar to the 2022 final Shamrocks had only a week’s break after beating O’Loughlins in the semi-finals the week before while James Stephens had a two-week break after beating Erins Own in the other semi.
