Kilkenny manager Brian Dowling has named a strong side for Sunday’s Very Camogie League Division 1A opener with Clare (Live on KCLR from 12pm).

The All-Ireland champions travel to Cusack Park for a tricky first fixture of 2023 against a well-organised Clare outfit.

Aoife Norris is the starting goalkeeper with full-back Grace Walsh flanked in each corner by Michelle Teehan and Ciara Phelan.

Young Irelands pair Steffi and Tiffanie Fitzgerald are joined in the half-back line by Niamh Deely with last year’s captain Aoife Prendergast and Denise Gaule making up the midfield.

Juliann Malone, Katie Power and Michaela Kenneally all claim a starting spot in the half-forward line and 2022 Player of the Year Miriam Walsh begins at full-forward with Sophie O’Dwyer and Jenny Clifford making up the remainder of the starting line-up.
