Carlow enjoyed a tremendous victory over Meath in the minor hurling championship at the weekend with the scoreline ending on the day 4-17 to 1-12.
Carlow came out of the blocks in the second half, with some superb hurling and great saves for Joe Bermingham.
Leading by three at halftime, Meath somewhat grew back into the game and even took the lead from time to time. Carlow came back valiantly every time and never let them get two points ahead.

The legend that is Tommy Murphy caught up with Carlow manager Alan Roche immediately after the whistle blew, and it was clear the man was so proud of his team;
“We were coming up today and knew the challenge ahead. We had to come up and give a performance and by god did these Carlow men stand up today.”
“We keep instilling in them, just do what you are doing. They are just a fine bunch of men and it is an honor to be their manager.”
Tommy highlighted the wonderful performance of goalkeeper Joe Bermingham and Roche was quick to heap praise on him and his players;
“What can you say about Joe? He has been unbelievable. I would like to thank Cian Campion and Sean Treacy, they are the men pushing Joe to keep that jersey. That’s why Joe is playing so well. Thank god we have three great goalkeepers.”
Carlow will head to Abbotstown after taking this weekend off to face Down in the next round.
