Palatine manager Niall Carew says Saturday evening’s Division One League Semi-Final clash with Eire Og will be perfect preparation leading into Championship.

Speaking to KCLR, Niall says the clash on Saturday will be a grear indicator as to where they are at regarding preparation.

“Ah look, I suppose we will know more in terms of where we are at after the game on Saturday.

“We think things are going well and we only got the County boys back this week.

“We gave them a couple of weeks off there since they had a massive year and I suppose give them time for the batteries to recharge and things like that so there was a bit of an appetite.

“We are looking forward to it now because it’s a great game to get leading into Championship,” he said.

Meanwhile Eire Og Senior Football manager Joe Murphy says it’s great to have the full squad back together after the extended break due to the Inter-County Teams fortunes.

Speaking to KCLR Joe says it’s all about trying to get the balance right.

“We have been together and it’s to get that balance really of the guys that have played throughout the League campaign and have got us to a Semi-Final and also to incorporate our county contingent coming back into training.

“It’s just about getting that balance right, the guys that have been with us training for the last number of months are now moving well.

“They have been a committed bunch, and it’s good to have the full squad back together now,” he said.
