Carlow are through to the TG4 All-Ireland Junior Semi-Final after a resounding victory against Limerick on Sunday.
Carlow travelled to St. Brendan’s Park in Birr high in confidence off the back of a recent good run of form.
They continued that form into today’s encounter with Limerick in the final round of the championship before the knockout stages commence next weekend.
It was a tight and tentative affair early on with the sides being split by a single point at the first half water break, Carlow 0-02 to 0-1 Limerick.
However, the Leinster outfit moved up the gears as the half progressed and two goals towards the end of the half gave Carlow a nine-point lead at half-time, 2-07 to 0-04.
They showed no sign of letting up after the interval as another two goals proved too much for a spirited Limerick side who came up short at the final whistle, Carlow 4-11 to 1-09 Limerick.
The win means Carlow will now contest an All-Ireland semi-final with Antrim next Sunday with the time and venue to be confirmed.
