Carlow aims to sustain promotion momentum in clash against Wexford

This Saturday evening, Carlow’s football team is set to face Wexford at Netwatch Cullen Park, as they strive to maintain their strong start and promotion aspirations in Division 4.

Currently occupying the second spot in the table, Niall Carew’s side is eager to build on their impressive performance in the ongoing Allianz Football League.

Despite a thrilling win over Leitrim last Sunday, Carlow football legend and KCLR contributor Willie Quinlan expressed disappointment in the turnout of local supporters. Quinlan emphasized the importance of backing the team during home games, especially when outnumbered by the opposing side:

“It is disappointing because when you have a home game and you’re outnumbered two to one in the support, maybe even three, that’s very, very disappointing. I’d say anyone that hasn’t been here will be so disappointed because that goal at the end was worth the entry fee… it was fantastic, a great win.”

To encourage local support, Carlow GAA is offering FREE tickets to U16s for the upcoming clash against Wexford. Additionally, these tickets will serve as entries for a half-time draw featuring Carlow jerseys.

Brendan Hennessy and Willie Quinlan will provide commentary from 7 pm, and Carlow GAA calls on fans to rally behind the team and build on the momentum gained from the recent victory over Leitrim.
