Carlow club football roundup (w/e 3 April 2022)

Goals aplenty and walkovers were part of the club form for Carlow sides over the weekend.

It was another busy weekend of club football in Carlow with most divisions now in full swing.

Friday night got the first round of the senior football league Division 1 underway, throwing up a big result for Éire Óg in particular.

  • Tinryland 2-10 Old Leighlin 0-8
  • Rathvilly 3-9 Bagenalstown Gaels 1-7
  • Eire Og 6-18 Palatine 0-5

Division 3 also got underway on Friday evening as Ballon kicked 20 points against Old Leighlin while Clonmore were in fine goalscoring form against Palatine.

  • Leighlinbridge 1-9 Tinryland 0-11
  • Ballon 0-20 Old Leighlin 0-2
  • Clonmore 8-20 Palatine 1-5

Saturday evening saw Division 4 roar into life with plenty of goals on offer.

  • Ballinabranna 5-10 Kildavin-Clonegal 1-7
  • Rathvilly 4-9 Fenagh 2-6
  • Naomh Eoin w/o Eire Og

Meanwhile, last night (Sunday) saw Division 2 move into the second round for some with the conclusion of first-round games. While Kilbridge had to concede to Ballinabranna, there were wins for Naomh Eoin, Railyard and Fenagh.

  • Naomh Eoin 0-7 Eire Og 0-5
  • Railyard 2-16 O’Hanrahans 2-7
  • Fenagh 2-17 Mt. Leinster Rangers 1-6
  • Ballinabranna w/o Kilbride

The senior football league Division 5 commences on Wednesday evening.
