Mount Leinster start campaign for third successive Carlow Club Championship
The Club hurling championship in Carlow starts this weekend. Ballinkillen and St Mullins get the senior action underway this evening at 7.30 in Netwatch Cullen Park, while Mt Leinster Rangers will clash with Naomh Eoin also in Netwatch cullen park, that game goes ahead tomorrow.
A home clash with Dublin in the Leinster club Championship awaits the eventual winner, but there is a long way to go yet.
Speaking with KCLR today Carlow Hurling Analyst , Terrence Kelly gave his opinion on this weekends clashes.
“I think St.Mullin’s have a very very strong team, with some classy forwards, Ballinkillen have a reasonably good team, but I think St. Mullins are quite good, but the strength of James Doyle and Marty, those boys wont make it easy for anyone. They have Paul Doyle at fullback, another towering hurler. Ballinkillen wont be to far behind, but I think St.Mullins will be to strong for them”.
Terrence also offered his thoughts on the Mt. Leinster Rangers and Naomh Eoin game.
“Theres aload of injuries in the mount leinster camp, Richard and Gary kelly are out, Paul Coady is out, and another few who have had very little training because they are coming back from injuries, but Naomh Eoin are in transition and most people expect Mount Leinster to beat them”.
