Carlow footballer Daniel St Ledger has retired from the inter-county game, his club Kildavin – Clonegal announced.
Since his debut, St. Ledger won promotion to Division three under Turlough O’Brien in 2018 and was part of the side that earned a famous Leinster quarter-final win over Kildare in Tullamore.
Speaking with KCLR Sunday Scoreline Daniel said the decision has been on the horizon for a while:
“For me personally I’ve been humming and hawing with it for a while you know, it’s not a decision I took lightly, it’s been a long oul haul and I don’t really know much about life without playing county football”.
He added “It’s going to be a bit of adjustment but I suppose covid kind of showed me that there is life beyond it as well you know”.
