Despite putting together a very good first half performance Carlow Senior hurlers couldn’t maintain that level of intensity and eventually lost out to Wexford at Netwatch Cullen Park in the Walsh Cup yesterday.
The Barrowsiders opened up a five point lead at one stage in that opening half but Wexford reduced the margin to a solitary point at half time.
Davy Fitz must have ushered some strong words at the break, as Wexford cranked things up a notch and strolled to a 3-20 to 14 points win in the end.
Next up for Carlow is a home clash against UCD at Netwatch Cullen Park on Wednesday.
