Carlow Senior Hurling manager Colm Bonnar says he expects James Doyle to be a marked man in the Joe McDonagh Cup Final against Westmeath after his hat-trick exploits against the same county on Saturday.
Speaking to KCLR, Colm says they will need to reproduce a similar performance in the Final.
“Fair play to the lads, they kept their head, they kept hurling, they kept coming back, and then we started getting the run on them and finally we took a couple of scores.
“We scored three goals and to score 3-21 again is a great score, but we are only where we wanted to be now.
“I don’t know who learned the most, but as I said, we are now in a final, we are playing the same team again, and no doubt James Doyle been a marked man, he scored 3-1.
“They will be trying to close down Chris(Nolan) but having said that, that’s hurling, we are delighted to be in Croke Park for the first ever McDonagh Cup and before a Leinster Final,” he said.
