Carlow Senior Hurling Manager Colm Bonnar says Westmeath will be hugely motivated to defeated Carlow and try and knock them out of the Championship.
Speaking ahead of Saturday afternoon’s Joe McDonagh Cup clash, Colm says Westmeath have been the form team all year.
“Westmeath to be fair to them have been playing extremely well all year.
“I think the only team that beat them this year in all competitions in the League was ourselves in that Division Two League Final and they have gone unbeaten since like.
“They have been hurting since that Division Two Final loss to us and I am sure they are going to try and put that record right and they are going to go all out and put us out of the Championship.
“They know if they beat us on Saturday, they have probably more or less put us out of this McDonagh Cup Championship so I think if anything they will be hugely motivated to beat us this Saturday,” said Bonnar.
